364 days to Red Hats

So, it was a lovely weekend.
Ro gave me the Boyd's Bears "Cinderelly," continuing the glass slipper theme from Christmas. The boy is broke ($$, not broken), so he made me pancakes and bacon for breakfast, gave me a card that melted me right there, and was loving and charming on the mall trip. He bailed out of Build-a-bear, which I totally understand since they were doing a b'day party for a 4 year old. The people were lovely, made me do all the silly things they make four-year-olds do, and Ro had fun watching me spend my Christmas present. Jonathan Higgins Dipples III came home in Army fatigues (since the only thing the boy said before he left to go sit down was "They have tan and green fatigues over there") with a tuxedo to change into when he goes to tea at Victoria and Veronica's. I think I may go back and get a Thomas Magnum Dimples to make his life miserable--I think I saw a Hawaiian shirt on the rack, and they did have dress whites.
Went to Williams and Sonoma, which the boy also enjoyed. The rose shaped bundt pan is our next major expenditure there--yesterday we just bought decadent ingredients for future food. Bought more White Barn honeysuckle candles elsewhere. Made the pilgrimage to the Apple store (no expenditures), and then to Borders. We managed to get out of there in under two hours (Borders), which may be a record for brevity.
We went to Outback for dinner (I wanted steak--hey, it happens once in a while!), and then came home for cake. On the way home we stopped to get Ro coffee, and she came back to the car with this tiny jointed Tower Guard bear, shako and all. Very cute (and 50 cents!), current guarding the Ott light on my desk. All in all, a lovely day, though we all three are fighting "the cold."
Now it's back to work. Almost cancelled classes because my head is so muddy, but I guess I'll fake my way through the day and see how I feel tomorrow.
