Hmmm, the article about how she was roughed up by a drunken and beligerant redneck in mid flight and is now suing the airline for emotional damages would have been much more amusing. My sympathies tend to be with the flight attendants. Their job is hard enough without individuals insisting on civil rights before common sense.
It's funny, I don't think that you and I dissagree very often, we generally just arrive at similar answers from exceedingly different paths of logic.

Date: 2005-10-07 03:29 pm (UTC)Back when I first started here, I was urged to apply for full-time, and didn't, because you had to be willing to teach in the prisons. You didn't get a gun, or a guard in the room, you were just locked in with a bunch of the best of the inmates. Sure, in a pinch, they might even try to protect you against the less evolved, but you're still locked in, powerless except for fists, feet, and teeth, with a bunch of unpredictable, pissed off, people, most of whom are bigger and more ruthless than you are.
No thanks.
