If I ever hear anyone talking about how "awful the Coopers are" in my hearing I will chew them up and spit them out to be used as chum.

We got a sympathy card from them.

Doesn't surprise me, actually. The Coopers are some of the most decent people I've ever known. (Well, except for the couple I'd fire out of a cannon on sight.)

And I do remember having a sit-down with Mrs. Cooper and Mrs. Wilver when the three of you came up. It was the year after you guys did security and they spoke very highly of you.

The Cooper's are good folks.

I've never gotten anything but support from them.

That's immense.

Unfortunately, the term "Cooper" tends to be used generically to refer to anyone in scrubs at Pennsic. I, for one, will strive never to use it that way again. Even if I did so for no other reason, I'd certainly do it to avoid your mighty incisors.

Anyone who said that never got them to begin with.

Its odd how focus shifts at the smallest things, I still remember the small kindness and those who committed them.

I'll hold them still while you gnaw. I had it with those statements years ago.

The Coopers are not mean. They are firm with rules when they need to be, for the safety of all, and perhaps they may err on the side of caution, but those who denigrate them are generally ones who think they should have an exception made for just them.

Think "unique snowflake" people. Gah.

I'm unsurprised they thought to send you a card. They're good folk.

I'm right there with you. I get so cranky when people start defaming them -- they're so nice.

yeah, I never understood that attitude. We do well by them, they do well by us, and yet some people seem to think ill of it all.

Btw, I sent on the book of condolence from Coronation today. Mara brought it home so I could put in my remembrance, and then I promptly got a cold that knocked me out for a few days. You should have it by Monday or Tuesday.

The coopers are great people for all the dealings i have had with them and most of the people who have had run ins usually thought they should be above the rules and they didn't apply to them - they have to play by the rules and so they are often villafied (don't know if that is a real word)I am glad they sent something

The Coopers I know are decent people. I'm glad they sent a card, not surprised, it fits what I know of them.

You guys are all loved and respected.

I'll hold 'em while Ro hits 'em, and you can watch and smile.
The Coopers have always been good and fair people.

Ooh... I'd buy tickets to watch!

WAY back in the PW IX - PW XIV days, the Coopers would invite folks from the two nearest baronies (Debatable Lands in the East and Cleftlands in the Mid) to come out in June for a "Cooper's Lake Demo" and invite in the curious public from the surrounding area to show off to them what the SCA was all about. While Pennsic week was happening, they had their hands full with the 3,000 or so people there; but things were much more casual at these demos. I had an opportunity to get to know them a bit during those times and find that I couldn't agree with you more.
