Van went into shop. Van badly needed to go into shop. Shop say $1600. Rowan cry [a lot]. Boy grumpy [a lot]. Truth be told, three should take Mord and Mairi approach to Pennsic, but boy not likely to ever see sense of this. Boy cashing in pennies today (fact, so how he will eat at said Pennsic I do not know). Rowena brought by trailer (now ours) last night. Where we will store said trailer (wood, open sides) is mystery like Holy Grail. Begin to feel like live in white trash land.

Employment for yours truly mystery like question of intelligent life in the universe--maybe, maybe not, and how would we know if we found it?

Porch and gravity have interesting relationship. May you live in interesting times they say. We do.

Old kitty grumpier every day. Old boy dog deaf. Old girl dog old. Scared about winter and old girl dog.

Boy and Duchezz to work on Rowena house. Move heavy objects on top of roof. Hate idea. Why trailer "free."
Boy or Duchezz to take out plaster in Rowena walls. Boy have respiratory issues. Hate idea.
Me hate idea not matter.

May have to leave Pennsic before boy. Very dangerous for marital stability. No one to watch back. Probably not matter anyway--back much scarred already.

Oddly, not grumpy. Resigned?

What is the Mord and Mairi Pennsic strategy.

I understand about starting ot feel like you live in white trash land. I mowed my lawn and found a car, unfortunately, it was my car.

I shall be bringing you Scotch, because good Scotch is a joy forever.

*good thoughts*

M&M strategy

Their van has equally expensive repairs (maybe even more), so they aren't coming this year.

Scotch good.

Ah, I knew that they weren't coming this year, but didn't know why.

Plaster work for trailer is not a good trade.

Man that is a tough pickle! Does the boy have a good resperator? If not have the owner of the house buy a real one. I am a healthy with no breathing issues other than technique and when I had to work with particulate matter for ceramics ( it is all fine pwder silicates and such in the unmusshey form) I was horking up odd abstract art for months.

Demowork and top gallant work on the house is worth way more than a trailer. When I did that work cheap with my father it was with the understanding that it was keeping me out of a cardboard box. Hopefully the owner of the house knows the sweet deal she just got and keeps the corrnicopia of unending beer and pizza flowing. Kim and I have used the friends work corp before with the understanding that we owe a big debt.

Of course if the house were to have an unexsplained fire based incident in the middle of the night there would be no need for anyone to be injured or horking up abstract art.

so in a verbose way hear ya and wish all the best.

1.give boy decent respirator/filtering mask... if he will use one. If not may I beat him with one?
2.grrr. I hate heights
3.if there is anything H and or I can do at Pennsic let us know.
I MEAN IT.
I’m not planning on doing as much this year… hea yeah I know. Planning on spending much of my work time at EK meetings or Public Safety since they are much more fun then Chirurgeons and well I have huge beef with EK Chirurgeon who is also WCH. I also have big beef with Corp CH who the WCH is kissing up to… Sigh. So I am planning on only doing a little in that area.
Due to new Odd food allergy I will be cooking this year… this should be interesting since I never cook at War. So I should be in camp a little more as well. Its amazing as to how many things have Cotton Seed oil in them.
Time to grow up and be a little more organized…
Grrr

I know the feeling. This is the first year that we'll be cooking (for other reasons) and my first relax-a-Pennsic in years. It's an odd feeling, and only mostly a good one.

Well im keeping it simple. if I cant do it with a grill I aint eating it. Luckily A LOT can be done with a grill. I should only have to wash one to two Small items after meals.
Im still very busy this year but... It will be less then in past years. it jsut means taht Im actually packing a cooler this year... usually I cope with Food court or MRE's I can only trust some MRE's now.

We also got a grill, and it really should be really useful. Much moreso than just a Coleman stove.

yuck i never did like colemans. not enough BTU's to boil water. at least pouch cooking works with grills. im actually playing with some experiments right now for reheating things like mac and cheese via pouch

Let me know what you end up doing. I have some thoughts (involving aluminium foil and a water sprayer), but would like to hear what practical solutions you find.

"Time to grow up and be a little more organized…"

"They" made me do this and now I will spend the rest of my life getting even through their children and their children's children and I will not stop until the world can think on its own!

Sorry, I am a bit excitable this morning.

"Its amazing as to how many things have Cotton Seed oil in them."
That would be just about anything pre made right? That is the harshest food alergy I have ever heard of.

Yeah MOST pre fab foods have it... So I will be asking food court about bread bowl food and breakfast food. but im not holding my breath... Im also Hypogylcemic and in the past the food court has saved me. Its nice to be able to get food within 10 minutes when there is need for that speed. I will have to slow down some this year if I cant at least manage something from bread bowl or beast and boar. my caloric intake doubles at pennsic.
breakfast will be the tough one. I used to rely on Egg and sausage and the like... If the oil used while making Omlets is OK for me then I will be all set.

Okay, all the other worries aside, my Rosemary appears to have been posessed by Londo from Bab5.

Is everyone else okay with this?

hmmm

re-reading it, I think it's more likely I was possessed by the love child of Londo and a Drazi stripper.

I'll just leave you with the mental images.

(Sadism, just another little service we provide)

We'd be happy to sell/lease you a slightly newer house in better shape on Butterfield Ave in Utica. Some of the wood work already stripped and refinished, some of the nasty wallpaper already stripped to the plaster. Finished Master BDR. Two other bdrs and an office. Small yards though. The porch is definitely not falling in.
Sorry to hear about Modi and Penelope and Yonder. Julie and I understand and share your worries. Our "Shadow " is no spring chicken these days either. Pennsic...at this point , our tent has gone to War more than we have. So we can't comment. We would love to go. But, cash and life being what they are? No. Employment...uh, yeah. My project ends in September. Again, I empathise. Julie's job is going gangbusters, but mine is typically temp. .
Van troubles? How many miles on the van again? For the record, we had to buy a new care last month because Julie's car bit the dust. It threw us for a loop too. We are recovering slowly. No matter what, we wish you well. We will pray for y'all and hope things improve.
