My rating: 3 of 5 stars
In the interests of full disclosure, I haven't read any of the first six books in the series. That, of course, meant I had no idea what I was getting into.
Cudos to Chapman for trying to make rocket scientists sexy.
Good use of dogs.
Apparently, and I didn't know this when I picked up the book, Chapman is a "paranormal romance" writer. That said--Diana Gabaldon and Lynn Kurland do "it" better. To be fair, often by the six or seventh book in a series a writer has lost some of what makes his or her early works exciting and engaging, and I'm willing to believe that has happened here. If the parents in this novel are her first couple, I think I want to read that book.
A bit of Christmas froth, with some magic and some rocket science. I just wish I'd been able to care even a little bit about the centerpiece couple.
