My two cents

I just finished reading Catherynne M. Valente's blog about movies and the Oscars. It was rather...negative...in ways. Oh, she has points (she usually does), but it seems to me she's inclined to be a little negative about most things.

And earlier today Nick Mamatas's celebratory "I got nominated for a Stoker again" entry on his blog had very much a "take that, assholes" verve.

And well, I just got finished with film class, where after talking about Stagecoach, we talked about how the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences goes about determining what films get nominated, and how the voting works, and who the Academy is.

But none of that matters, because I'm having one of those days when all I really want to say is, "Thank God for Hollywood!"
