I figured taking it was a requirement for the film teacher )

There's a direct correlation between how long a film has been out and the likelihood I've seen it, since we don't get to the theatre as much as I like, and I have a hell of a backlog to get through. Still, not bad.

So today on NPR (I think Morning Edition, but could have been All Things Considered, and it could have been yesterday, but work with me here) I heard them talking about Law & Order. At first it was about how The Simpsons are going to beat Marshall Dillon, Miss Kitty, Doc, and Festus for longest running show (for the infants younger members of my flist, that would be Gunsmoke) since the new contract with FOX will have The Simpsons on the air for 22 years (Cowabunga!! Doh!). And then they mentioned that hot on the heels is the original Law and Order, at 18 years. Then they did a piece on the new ITV series Law and Order: UK.

So, after doing some schedule crunching for entirely unrelated reasons, I checked out the site for the UK version. And suddenly, I was taking a trip down memory lane. "Apollo" Adama, Martha Jones, and OMG Harriet Vane! Okay, the actors who played those roles. Picky, picky, picky.

I hope it does well.

(And of course, since the actress who played Harriet looks an awful lot at first glance like the actress who played Cally in Blakes 7, that got me all nostalgic about that, but that is geekness for another day. Please, oh please, let Torchwood be back on BBCAmerica soon!)
