Six degrees
Feb. 23rd, 2009 12:07 pmFirst of all, thanks to the blogophiles! You guys are wonderful. Great variety, and just what I was looking for (I just have to be careful and not get hooked on any of them or I'll have no time)!
Second, I was thinking. Oh, no! Not that! you cry. Just a little think. No reason to be scared.
Over on Facebook someone invited me to join the "Six degrees" group. My Facebook list is teeny (which is okay by me), but more importantly, since by my reckoning I am variously 2-4 degrees from the entire entertainment world of note (since I have the dubious distinction of knowing Jay McInerney, and he knew the Brat Pack, and they, well, know just about everyone, and I know various other people on Broadway, at the Metropolitan Opera, etc.), and since, if my math is right, I am 4 degrees from Bill Clinton, who knows everyone else, I'm done. I mean really, what more is there?
Not smug about it--just think it's funny--and more than a little silly since it sort of defines "meaningless connections."
