Goodbyes

This morning at 9:07 I said goodbye to a class. Sometimes that is done with glee and no little relief. This class was different. It was an 8 AM class (not my favorite time to be bright eyed and bushy-tailed), but they were a good class. I'll miss them. They made getting my ass to campus by 7:30 AM worth it, even on 4 below days like today. Bright, interested, hard-working. What a joy. Three of them have signed up for one of my 102 sections in the Spring. Makes me happy.

Three more goodbyes today, two I won't mind seeing the back of, then my 4 o'clock, which was almost as good a group as the 8 AM (even if it does have my stalker boy--not really, more like a groupie). Then 3 more tomorrow. Piles of papers and portfolios to grade, then start prepping for the Spring. Four different courses, six sections total. Looks like there are enough in my Med/Ren class for it to run, so that is exciting and scary. I may have to learn how to lecture. Not currently in my skill set.

Almost free of the Eastern Star nightmare. Yippee.

Two 12th nights (I may miss AE for puppy duty), than back to the grind. Can't say I'm excited about putting on garb, no matter how much I miss people or gnash my teeth at the total lack of time to embroider. Oh well--priorities.

More grading. Now.

I had hoped to see you at at least one 12th night, but we still don't know if AE is feasible. EK was going to be a definate for the same reason you are going but I have to run a work party for 200 people, so that's a no-go also. (That's a whole nother rant I should share sometime for amusement value.) Oh well. There's always spring. :-)

Lecturing is in your skills set. You just do it unconsciously. Grin.

Enjoy the quiet of your office once the students leave. Hugs.
