Weird Pop Culture Day

So, staying with the theme of some of my earlier posts today, I'd like to share this.

What I saw yesterday while I was walking through Walmart--my only regret is that I didn't use my phone and must, therefore, rely on a link:

"I saw it in the window and just couldn't resist it."

These are the end times.

Well, that could induce nightmares.

Well, there is a bruise in the middle of my forehead where I banged it against my monitor reaching for the doll.

These may be the end times... but they are MY end times.

Next week we get the Rosie The Riveter Tickle Me Work Gloves.

Oh yes.

Aww, but Carol Burnett was Teh Roxxors! The Goldie Hawn Barbie is ... unsettling. As is the Barbra Barbie.

If someone gave that to me, I would give it a place of honor next to my Bender(from Futurama)wind-up toy. Carol Burnett is a Goddess and I'd much rather see her get a doll than Paris Hilton or Jessica Simpson.

And yes, I do realize that posting this moves me ever closer to the "crotchety old man" category, but I'm okay with that.

And OMG! I WANT ONE! In my twisted world (and few happy childhood memories) I love this Barbie Doll!

How I remember watching Carol Burnett on TV with my parents from time to time. Of course, I was more into things like Gilligan's Island, Hogan's Heroes, among others. Far funnier than most of the stuff we call comedy today. Even Brit comedy has dropped off some, but I still find it better than ours.

As for the Barbie... house_elf and I wanted to get the Black Canary one... there was just something about it. :) And like sheapottery, I am more in favor of Carol instead of Paris, or Jessica. Some of the things marketing folks call "Pop Culture" leave me with a look very much like your Dot icon... Errrr??!! Of course, other things very much rate a "Hello Nurse!". LOL

I want! That dress is my dream Halloween costume, it is the only reason I would ever do drag. I will never forget that episode!
