8 days until I have to throw the lever...

and I still have no clue what I'm going to do in the voting booth.

The only thing I'm sure of is "Not Romney." Okay, and "Not Ron Paul." Other than that, I'm still twisting in the wind. And those two mantras are not very useful when one is voting in the Democratic primary.

Hillary: I don't trust her newly moderate stand--she's always been too left of center for this centrist Dem.

Obama: He's charismatic, well-spoken, adept at the persona thing. Don't trust him.

Edwards: Not electable, but of them all the only one whose positions I think are mature--which of course makes them unpopular.

Casting a vote for anyone else would be throwing my vote away. Wouldn't even budge the front-runners in a responsible direction.

Nothing to hate. Nothing to love.

I miss having a candidate I believed in. Yup, Election 2008: The Year of Living Lamely.

I feel for you. I don't like the likely choices, but I do favor Obama over Hilary... I don't see 35 years of experience, I see 35 years of baggage.... time to move on.

I want to vote for John M, but NY seems to have lost my request to change party (twice actually). So I have the same choices. I stand for nothing in common with John Edwards. I do not trust Sen. Clinton at all. That leaves me with Sen. Obama - who at least has a great vision even if it isn't all one I share and I question how he will get there.

Yes, JM would be my lever choice as well. I think the NY vote will be split between him, Romney, and Guiliani, but I have absolutely no idea who will prevail. And I fear when California votes it will go with Romney, which scares the hell out of me.

Don't worry - Romney believes in the same stuff you do* - maybe not every day, but off and on.

*Note, I don't need to know what you believe to feel confident saying that.

Gee, sounds like the post I made last week! I'm pretty sure I'm voting for Edwards. Admittedly, there's a little "none of the above" in there, but I agree with your maturity point. I'm going to ignore the "electability" factor...he's the best IMHO.

Tell me about it. Last night I actually caught myself thinking "Maybe a McCain presidency wouldn't suck, and it would give the Dem's four more years to get their shit together."

Sigh.
