I'm one of those anal retentive types whose LP collections were alphabetized by artist, but each artist was organized by album release date.

Um... yeah. Mine too. didn't know there was any other way to do that. Even my books are done similarly. Fiction: alphabetic by author, chronological by copyright/original release date, series grouped together. Non-fiction: alphabetic by subject/topic, etc. etc.

Otherwise, how would I find things!
